Meet Rob Pettigrew

Rob Pettigrew has directed the Huron Valley Harmonizers for more than 15 years. He works at the University of Michigan Library, helping faculty and students use technology in their academic work.
Rob has sung in choruses, choirs, operas, and musicals since high school and college where he earned a minor in Music Education. He began singing with the Huron Valley chapter in 1988, where he was quickly talked into serving as Assistant Director and then Director for a few years.
Rob is a member of Chordiology, a still-active quartet founded in 1989 that won the 2007 Pioneer District Quartet Contest. He is a member of the Pioneer District Hall of Fame and a winner of the Glenn Van Tassell Award for encouraging the development of quartets.
After a few years away from the chorus, Rob picked up directing responsibilities again in 2007 after Paul Hansen, the director at the time, unexpectedly passed away. Rob has been the Music Director of the Huron Valley Harmonizers since. His decades of experience, combined with a deep appreciation for the unique opportunity to bring joy to audiences, has given the chorus a director who makes every rehearsal fun, instructional, and rewarding.
